MEAG acquires World Port Center in Rotterdam from Marathon and Unifore

September 12, 2022

Being the first large-scale office building on the Kop van Zuid in Rotterdam, World Port Center was designed by renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners. The building measures approx. 35,500 sq.m l.f.a. of high-quality office space and offers 507 parking spaces in the underground parking garage. The multi-tenant office building has been leased out for a long term to mainly government-related tenants. For example, the harbor control center of the Port Authority and the 112-emergency control room of the Police are accommodated in the World Port Center.

World Port Center has recently been extensively refurbished and repositioned by the owner, with the last renovation works being delivered in 2021. The works that have been executed all contribute to improving the ESG credentials of the building and include a full renovation of the entrance and terrace, designed by the renowned architectural practice Mecanoo. The sustainable building has been awarded an energy label A, a BREEAM Excellent certificate and a WELL Gold certificate.

The purchaser was advised by BNP Paribas Real Estate, Greenberg Traurig and Hollis Global. The vendor was assisted by Cushman & Wakefield, Loyens & Loeff and KPMG.
