UWV Deventer office designated for residential use
December 18, 2018Unifore, Getgripp and Van Wijnen are to transform UWV’s former office premises in Deventer into a high-quality residential complex comprising 42 compact rental apartments. The project is intended to address the growing demand for suitable housing in the medium rent segment. The transformation should also lend considerable impetus to the development and vitality of Deventer’s city centre area.
The project comprises 42 compact apartments with high quality finishing and furnishings, ranging from 40 to 85 m² of living space. The premises known as the Hardonk complex are located in the historic centre of Deventer, adjacent to the main shopping area and close to the verdant splendour of Rijsterborgher Park. The plinth of the complex will house commercial units for small-scale creative businesses and the catering industry, which is in keeping with the further layout of the city centre.
The complex’s future residents, entrepreneurs and visitors will be able to park in the Stadspoort car park, currently being renovated by the Municipality of Deventer, Unifore and Van Wijnen (due for completion in mid-January 2019).
The transformation is to be carried out on the basis of a design by ArchitectenLab of Deventer, which is specialised in such projects. In collaboration with project developer Getgripp, it has succeeded in creating a stunning new facade for the building during a period in which construction prices are rapidly rising. The facade will also ensure that the new apartments have plenty of light, high quality insulation and pleasing layouts offering stunning views.
The construction preparation and demolition of the building will commence after the Christmas break.
The total transformation will take approximately one year; the apartments are to be completed by the close of 2019.
