Derck Jan has 21+ years of experience in the international financial industry of which 18+ years focused on commercial real estate. He started his career in 1997 at ING Group. After several trainee jobs at ING Investment Management and ING Bank, he worked for several years at the ING Insurance company in Belgium. Back in the Netherlands, Derck Jan entered the real estate industry in 2000 by joining Westland/Utrecht (part of ING Group), focusing on corporate real estate financing and leasing. In 2002, he re-located to ING Real Estate Development where he was charged with the international expansion of the company. In 2006, Derck Jan left ING and joined ABN AMRO Bouwfonds Property Finance (later SNS Property Finance). For SNS Property Finance he moved to Washington where he became responsible for the restructuring and wind-down of the 2.5bln+ Northern American real estate loan book until 2011. In 2011, Derck Jan returned to the Netherlands where he joined the treasury and finance consulting firm Zanders as a business associate, focusing on real estate debt advisory, restructuring and investments in the Netherlands.
Derck Jan holds a law degree from the Leiden University.
