World Port Center acquired by Marathon with Unifore as their Asset Manager

The World Port Center office building in Rotterdam was acquired by a partner of MCAP Global Finance (UK) LLP, the British subsidiary of the New York-based asset manager Marathon Asset Management, L.P. (Marathon).  Seller is Investment Consortium WPC, represented by Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance.

The World Port Center is one of the most distinctive buildings in Rotterdam, designed by Sir Norman Foster and located on the Wilhelminapier, Kop van Zuid. The building comprises approximately 35,500 sqm of office space distributed over 32 floors and approximately 500 parking spaces in the underground parking garage. World Port Center is largely leased to Port of Rotterdam and Rotterdam-Rijnmond Security Region, both tenants have long-term leases.

Seller was advised by JLL (commercial), Houthoff Buruma (legal) and CVO Group (Technical).
MCAP Global Finance was advised by Savills (Technical and Commercial) and Unifore, who were also appointed as Property Manager respectively Asset Manager of the WPC. Loyens & Loeff acted as legal adviser.
